Planning a trip to the UK? As of April 2025, visitors from certain countries will need to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before entering. This applies whether you’re visiting for tourism, family, short-term studies, business, or even just transiting through the UK.

What Is the UK ETA?

The ETA is a new electronic entry permit required for travellers entering the UK. It’s not a full visa, but you still have to apply and be approved before arrival.

Validity: 2 years or until your passport expires (whichever comes first)
